چکیده
We report the generation of harmonic noise-like mode-locked pulses in a thulium-doped fiber laser. In this laser, mode-locking can be realized through nonlinear polarization rotation (NPR) technique. The ring cavity configuration uses 5 m Tm-doped dual-cladding fiber, as gain medium, pumped by 793 nm diode couple controllers (PCs) and polarization-dependent isolator to form polarization-rotating saturable absorber. By carefully adjusting PCs, laser generates at 2.04 µm band. With increase pump power, harmonics fundamental repetition frequency 6.88 MHz, from which we obtain second controlled mode. obtained results may useful for enhancing understanding mechanism characteristics pulse 2

Stability calculations for the ytterbium- doped fiber laser passively mode-locked through nonlinear polarization rotation
We investigate theoretically a fiber laser passively mode-locked with nonlinear polarization rotation. A unidirectional ring cavity is considered with a polarizer placed between two sets of a halfwave plate and a quarterwave plate. A master equation is derived and the stability of the continuous and mode-locked solutions is studied. In particular, the effect of the orientation of the four phase...
متن کاملPolarization rotation vector solitons in a graphene mode-locked fiber laser.
Polarization rotation vector solitons formed in a fiber laser passively mode locked with atomic layer graphene were experimentally investigated. It was found that different from the case of the polarization locked vector soliton formed in the laser, two extra sets of spectral sidebands always appear on the soliton spectrum of the polarization rotating vector solitons. We confirm that the new se...

The passive mode-locked fiber lasers are of great interest for a study of diversified features of a soliton dynamics. Dispersion parameters and a form of intensity-dependent nonlinear losses in the fiber lasers with nonlinear polarization rotation technique can be changed in a very large range that provides a distinct manifestation of varied soliton properties including a quantization of an int...
متن کاملMode-locked fiber laser gyroscope.
We propose and demonstrate a novel fiber-optic gyroscope in the form of a mode-locked laser consisting of a laser cavity formed by a planar mirror at one end, a gain medium, and a Sagnac interferometer at the other end. The Sagnac interferometer serves as a reflector as well as a rotation-sensing element. The output of the gyroscope is a series of short optical pulses. The separation of two set...
متن کاملTunable and switchable dual-wavelength Tm-doped mode-locked fiber laser by nonlinear polarization evolution.
We propose and demonstrate a tunable and switchable dual-wavelength ultra-fast Tm-doped fiber laser. The tunability is based on nonlinear polarization evolution (NPE) technique in a passively mode-locked laser cavity. The NPE effect induces wavelength-dependent loss in the cavity to effectively alleviate mode competition and enables the multiwavelength mode locking. The laser exhibits tunable d...
